Aburatsubo Spaziergang / Aburatsubo Walk

January 22, 2021 Yokosuka, Japan) - We have been in a state of emergency since January 7, which, if all goes well, will end on February 7, 2021. Since we, have experienced it, like the rest of the world, everything is quite relaxed. At first we watched Netflix, Hulu and Co. for hours. I don't think there is a series that I don't know, so we watched the Night Stalker a few days ago and if someone talks about wasted of time, this is a good example. We should not leave our house, but we are allowed to do what we consider not dangerous if necessary. I appreciate Japan for this, the citizen is trusted. We twiddle our thumbs at home and sometimes we cannot help it but go out. The question is where to go? Somewhere with no crowds and outdoor. The moon would be an ideal destination, if Elon Musk would work a little faster, then maybe we could still experience this in this lifetime, but these are fantasies and the reality is different.

With Charly, my 10-year-old Labrador male, I have already spent a lot of time, especially laying bones on the table and then forgetting to give it to him and waiting for him to steal the bone. Of course all is on camera.

Two weeks ago, our tacky Yokosuka tabloid paper arrived, usually this is disposed of immediately, nobody has the time or inclination to read the endless advertisements, classifieds and trivial articles. That changed in the past year and my husband actually found something interesting, a hiking book from Kanagawa, more precisely the 40 best hiking trails in Kanagawa from Yamamoto, Masagi. In Japanese, however, maps can be read in all languages. We got this book straight away and found a short hiking trail near us.

I have put together a vlog on my English Youtube channel for those who can only travel virtually around the world at the moment.

Wegbeschreibung von Tokio:

Ich empfehle Hyperdia Webseite.

Ca. 1 Stunde 15 Minuten

Abfahrt Bahnhof: Tokio

Ankunft Bahnhof: Mizakiguchi

Uns reichten 1.5 Stunden.

Directions from Tokyo:

I recommend Hyperdia website.

Approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

Departure train station: Tokyo

Arrival train station: Mizakiguchi

Bus to Aburatsu Marine Park, approx. 15 minutes

Our hiking path. We are following the suggested hiking course, but have shortened it. 1.5 hours was enough.

The Miura peninsula has a very eventful history, which also included a samurai from the Miura clan. Aburatsubo is now better known for its marine park and sailing, there is also a certain time in the year to see Yabusame, but 500 years ago the Arai castle of the Miura clan stood here. Apart from two gravestones and a memorial that reminds us of the castle, we found nothing. Nevertheless, this walk was beautiful, with bright sunshine, light stormy wind and cold temperture along the coast. We met a man from Tokyo who was fishing with his son and proudly said that he had caught a fugu fish.

I wish you a nice day and see you next time!

World's Longest Wooden Pedestrian Bridge | Horai Bridge

Horai Bashi or Horai Bridge is the longest wooden pedestrian bridge and it is in the Guinness Book of Records. The interesting thing is that it was built in 1879 and there is a very good story to it.

Zitronen-Milch-Curry, ein Andenken aus Tochigi in Japan (Englisches Video)

In Japan findet man in jeder Prefecture verschiedene Spezialitäten.
