Trees turning to snow monsters Japan

Hello

My name is Martina. I am from North Germany and living in Japan since 2006 on and off. I report about my Life in Japan on this channel with a focus on travel destinations in #Japan. When I visit my home country Germany or it’s surrounding countries I vlog about it. If you are learning German, I do have a German channel about Life in Japan oder Leben in Japan which you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBSNR9kl0o_S57fGRQY_sYg

We visited Zao Onsen to see the famous snow monsters of Yamagata and that was an experience you hardly forget. First of all, even with snow tires, we had lots of difficulties to reach our hotel, which was located on a steep mountain. I took us a while to bring our car up, we were so tired. Later that day we went up with the #zao ropeway to the Snow Monsters. Icy cold temperature of -10 C but with strong winds it was like -20 C. The trees were all covered with a thick snow layer and frozen in time, called Juhyo in Japan or frozen tree. Atmospheric conditions creates a cycle of ice accumulation which leads to the appearance of this surreal towering monsters. Illuminated at night gives this landscape a ghostly atmosphere if there wasn't the howling wind, reminding you that this is reality.

Today I will talk about the 3.11 Densho Road, if you translate Densho Road, it means teaching the next generation about something or telling the next generation about something. In this case about the Great Eastern Earthquake and Tsunami in March 2011. We recently visited Matsushima and explored the surrounding areas and found this unnamed landmark, which brought our attention to the 3.11 Densho Road and I will talk a little bit about it. If you travel to Japan and you are interested, I believe this is a good way to start to read about the Densho Road project. Third best scenic landscape in Japan

Hello

My name is Martina. I am from North Germany and living in Japan since 2006 on and off. I report about my Life in Japan on this channel with a focus on travel destinations in #Japan. When I visit my home country Germany or it’s surrounding countries I vlog about it. Today I will talk about …

Did you ever asked yourself what Japanese think is the most scenic spot in Japan? This differs from the actually top sightseeing area tourists coming to visit in Japan. Today’s video is about Matsushima which belongs to the top three scenic spots in Japan according to https://tabicoffret.com/article/79674/index.html

Tabicoffure. How this got my attention? My husband is the planner for most of my travel.

The hotel we are staying in is run by an older couple with two dogs. During the 2011 Great Eastern Earthquake the hotel was damaged and since then the lift is not working. The repair cost are horrific high, 10,000,000¥. A sum the owner cannot afford. So we had to carry our luggage to the third floor, which was exhausting. Our room for three people was big enough with a beautiful view to the sea. We were happy. The bath is small but in Japan it is custom to use the public bath or onsen. Matsushima sees less visitors since the Covid-19 pandemic and hotels are not yet accustomed to regular visitors. We belong to the sporadic customers and there is no breakfast or dinner available in the hotel. So we explored the neighborhood and found this cute Sushi Bar in a residential house, run by a former Sushi Chef and his wife. An absolute insider Tip.

1. Matsushima

2. Miyashima

3. Amano Hashidate, Kyoto

Day Trip from Kobe with dog

Day Trip from Kobe with dog
Today, I visit Maxi in Osaka und we are going to #Kobe with her cute little dog Max. Traveling with a dog or even eating in a Cafe or restaurant with a dog is not so easy in Japan. We found the perfect Cafe and later we went to a park, which seems to be very popular with the local dogs. How different is a Japanese Inn to a Western Inn

How different is a Japanese Inn to a Western Inn Wer are going back in history. An over 400 year old #Sukiya building, which was a retreat during the Edo Period from 1603-1868 for the feudal lords of the Aizu domain, will be the backdrop of my today's video. This historical building is our Japanese Inn and I will show you on how different is a Japanese Inn to a Western Inn. From accommodation, food and cleaning arrangements to souvenirs. As you might know, Onsen is big in Japan, especially sulfar onsen, this Ryokan has a 44C Fox Sulfur Onsen, a private onsen and a community onsen. The rooms are equipped with a toilet and a sink but no showers or baths. #Japan travel is exciting and I discover after such a long time every day new things and I love it. 00:00 Opening 00:34 Going to one of three onsen (sulfur onsen) 03:02 Ryokan or Japanese Inn room 03:28 Special garden light up / surprise 05:15 Kaiseki dinner Aizu style 09:40 Garden light up 10:06 Breakfast 10:13 Sukiya style building 10:40 Features of the path to the onsen 10:43 Community onsen 11:43 Features of the sukiya style building 13:13 Japanese souvenir 13:56 Historical photo of the ryokan 14:05 End 😁Don't be a stranger 🎠Subscribe to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/MartinaTakano 🎠Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/martinatakano/ 🎠Email: martinemler@gmail.com 🎠Twitter: https://twitter.com/martinatakano Music Song: Artlist Editing Software: DaVinci Resolve / imovie Camera: Sony alpha 7C & iPhone 12Pro Drone: DJI Mavic 2 Pro XOX Martina Takano German living in Japan vlog / blogger Travel Japan with me
